The Official History Portsmouth FC Celebrating 125 Years * Limited Edition *
Visually stunning, it is an affectionate appreciation of the south coast’s most successful football club.
The great games and great players - Billy Haines, Cliff Parker, Jimmy Dickinson, Peter Harris, Ray Hiron, Alan Knight, Noel Blake, Paul Merson and Kanu, to name but a few who have worn the blue shirt with pride - are all here and much, much more besides.
Featuring some rarely seen photographs and more than 20 specially commissioned colourised images, this 424 page coffee table book is the definitive history of Portsmouth Football Club.
Only 1,898 numbered books have been printed for sale, and over a thousand of these have already been purchased by early subscribers, so don't miss out!
From 3rd October, in addition to this mailorder service, you will be able to buy a copy in person from the offical club shop, Pigeon Books (Southsea) and New To You Books (Cosham), and Portsmouth Museum & Art Gallery. It will NOT be available to buy on Amazon, or from high street bookstore chains.
UK MAIL ORDER
We regret books are only available via mail order to be delivered to a UK address. This is due to the book's size and weight exceeding the threshold for economic postage and safe delivery.
ABOUT THE AUTHORS
The authors are specialists in their respective eras. Neil Allen is Chief Sports Writer at The News, Steve Bone a local journalist and contributor to the Pompey programme, Johnny Moore is part of the media team at the club, while Gerry Spraggs and Mick Comben, both Pompey History Society members, bring to bear their considerable knowledge of the first fifty years of the club’s history.
Edited by Colin Farmery, the team brings Pompey's colourful and sometimes under-appreciated history to life, with all-new content, a comprehensive, revised and updated statistical analysis, and special features on the great moments and personalities that have shaped the Pompey story.
